*IMPORTANT* ENABLING RWFS WILL FORMAT YOUR MICRO SD CARD. IF YOU ENABLE THIS OPTION YOU **WILL** LOSE ALL DATA ON IT!

Guide to using RWFS.

RWFS (Read Write File System) uses the unionfs file system to make squashfs file systems writeable, it does this by storing all changes in the file system in a writeable directory, the second partition on the memory card in this case. RWFS will prompt you to choose your memory card size when you chose to install it, it will take 400mb of your SD card for the ext2 partition, with the exception of 1gb cards, it will take 200mb.

If you delete a file from any previously ro directory it will create a file on the memory card with prefix .wh_[filename] so if you delete /usr/bin/mediaplayer a file will be created in /mmc/mmca2/usr/bin called .wh_mediaplayer . If you delete this .wh_ file and reboot the file will come back in /usr/bin . If you add a file called file1 to /usr/bin the file will be created in /mmc/mmca2/usr/bin/file1 but you will see the actual file in /usr/bin .

The directories with read/write access are /bin /lib /usr /sbin /root /home

Now what if you mess something up and the phone will not boot? Don't panic. Basically you have two options and neither one requires any formatting:
a) If you have access to the second partition from any other device, delete the file which caused the phone not to boot, if you have no idea, wipe it out totally or at least the files of which you don't know what they do. (Note: enable showing hidden files / folders)
b) If you cannot access the second partition by any other means than the phone, plug your memory card to PC and in folder ".Reloaded" create a file "no_unionfs". (Without the quotes and case sensitive). Put your memory card back to the phone and now mmca2 is still accessible, but not mounted as unionfs. Delete the file which caused the phone not to boot, if you have no idea, wipe it out totally or at least the files of which you don't know what they do. The delete the "no_unionfs" file in mmca1 and reboot.
